30th Coronation: Oba Oladunjoye Fajana, “a Monarch of Peace”, says Sofolahan, Arasanyin

The Ajana Afa of Okeagbe Akoko in Ondo state, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana has been described as truly a monarch after the people’s heart as his 30 years of reign has recorded many outstanding achievements.

Speaking with the Journalists in Akure, the state capital, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Chief Soga Sofolahan and its Secretary, Prince Foluso Arasanyin stated that the 30th Coronation of Oba Oladunjoye Fajana as the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe is worth celebrating

“He is an icon. His keadership style is exceptional. He showed the way for a lot of us to follow. 30 years ago, when our Kabiyesi was installed as the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe, we were all happy and we prayed that during his reign as the Oba, the people of Afa would begin to experience unprecedented development, and that peaceful co-existence would reign among the people of the community.

“We thank God that within a short time of his reign, our prayers have been answered. Currently, Afa community in Okeagbe is ranked as one of the peaceful communities in the State”, they noted.

They also stressed that as the custodian of culture and traditions, Oba Oladunjoye Fajans plays significant roles in ensuring that the interest of his subjects is taken care of and that the spirit of co-operation, communal living and peaceful co-existence for which Yoruba people are known is preserved.

They however described the monarch as a traditional ruler who has used his wealth of experience and knowledge to contribute to the progress and development of Afa Community and indeed Okeagbe in general.

“Oba Oladunjoye Fajana is an epitome of dedication and selflessness in public and community service. He used his elevated positions in African Development Bank/World Bank to uplift the standard of life of his subjects

“As an ex-African Development Bank/World Bank chief, Oba Fajana discharged his duties with the utmost professionalism, competence and dedication. He left the Bank with impeccable records, exhibiting the true spirit of royalty in him.

“Since his ascending the throne of his forefathers 30 years ago, Kabiyesi has displayed exemplary leadership. All Afa community particularly the egbegun salute his passion and commitment to the growth and development of the community. Indeed, the people of Afa are lucky to have a disciplinarian like him as their ruler.

“May Kabiyesi witness many more fruitful years and decades on the throne of his forefathers for the continuous service to humanity”, they added.

However the 30th anniversary will commence on Wednesday 24th November, 2021 with a Lecture titled: “The role of Traditional Rulers towards building a viable society”

Many dignitaries across nooks and crannies of the Country and well-meaning sons and daughters of Okeagbe will gather at Palace- centre to pay homage and participate in the 5 day Coronation Anniversary events.

Other events line-up include Medical Checkup, Display of Traditional ancestral Crown, Beads and Staff of Office and Football match. Confirment of Titles and installation of Chiefs by Oba Fajana , Jumat service, and Youth Night out.

All Afa cultulral and traditional events, from Wednesday to Friday will take place within the Palace but however, the Grand Finale of the anniversary will come up on November 27, 2021 at St. George’s Primary School field, Okeagbe Akoko while the even will be rounded off with Thanksgiving service.
