2023: Why Hon. Adejoro Adeogun deserves a Second Term

It is always a delight to see public office holders justify the mandate given to them by the people who elected them, in a reality where many politicians have turned the commonwealth of the people to means to acquiring personal wealth and self-gratification, the beauty of democracy has been submerged.


For the people of Akoko Southeast/Southwest Federal Constituency of Ondo state at the House of Representatives, their decision to give their mandate to Hon. Adejoro Adeogun during the 2019 general election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress to become the fifth honorable member to represent the people of the federal constituency is one which has not only offered the people the much desired dividends of democracy but also a renewed hope that goodness can still come out of our political settings.


His emergence to represent the people has to a very good extend has changed the narrative for the better among his people, while the people of this federal constituency over the last decades has nothing or little to show for their gains of a democratic system, he has made it his task to ensure that the need and interest of the people are well prioritized.


It is indeed amazing to realize that even before the end of his first term representing the people, he has already done what many lawmakers failed to do in two terms, such is the drive of Hon. Adejoro Adeogun, his profile reads an inexhaustible list of community development projects and initiatives which has been facilitated by the federal lawmaker.


Touching all sectors, he has left no stone unturned as he continues to relentlessly and passionately deliver his electoral promises to the people, more touching is the fact that these are not just white elephants projects which are done to play to the gallery, they are projects and initiatives with direct impact to the people.
Owing to his efforts, Akoko south indigenes are now better represented in the Nigeria Ports Authority, the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Foreign Affairs, Department of State Services, DSS, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Medical Centre Lokoja, Nigerian Army, Federal Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, including the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board and Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
For those who were unable to make it into the above federal parastatals and ministries, Adeogun was able to facilitate the enlistment of 110 of them for the N-power program.


As if this is not enough, Adeogun nominated and enlisted Sixty (60) members of his Federal Constituency for a Youth Volunteer Programme under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in October 2021. Again, when another opportunity presented itself, he nominated and got another set of one hundred (100) youths from Akoko south enlisted for an empowerment programme under the Federal Ministry of Labor, Employment and Productivity Federal government in September 2021.


Adding to his amazing and endless list of antecedents and contributions towards the growth and development of his constituency, the lawmaker intensified more by doling out more dividends of a pure democratic system to the members of his constituency.


The federal lawmaker donated Agriculture loans to two hundred farmers in his constituency to cushion the effect of Covid-19 pandemic which greatly affected the economic lives of the people.


Adding to this, he gave out scholarship to students in tertiary institutions in the constituency while he also gave out capitals for business to rural women and men. Also Hon. Ade Adeogun has seen to the construction of township roads in Oba Akoko, the construction of Agba Oka; it would also be remembered that Hon. Adejoro Adeogun offered a three years’ scholarship to 400 students at Upland College of Education, Ipesi Akoko.
