2023: Tunji Abayomi urges Yoruba leaders to choose strong presidential aspirant

News

Human Rights Activist and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji Abayom has urged Yoruba Political leaders to scrutinize all Aspirants and present a credible person as a president with fresh ideas and break away from the ugly past.

Tunji Abayomi in a statement on his Facebook wall titled ‘An URGENT note to Yoruba political leaders” said it is time to choose wisely from the fray of the presidential hopefuls in order to put an end to the unending suffering that the average Nigerian had been subjected to over the years.

His words: “What the Yoruba people need to focus on is not all Aspirant options but on the serious and notable Aspirants, those who are worthy through it all, those who are desirable and supportable by the peoples of Nigeria to be elected President

“Let me use this opportunity to beg Yoruba political leaders to show good sense. It’s not every bird that has wings that can fly like Eagle. Just how many Yoruba political leaders intend to run for the commission of President of Nigeria? How many really have the capacity to fly? Is it every male child that can be the Dawudu and does every mail adult in the house rise to become the head of the family?

“Before we are subjected to ridicle as a people those who have no serious or strong political base and those who have useless or worthless political dreams and ambition should just quit the important race for Presidency before they abort the good hope of Yoruba land to produce a fit and befitting President for Nigeria.

“Yoruba leaders must be focused now and present a credible person because I mean we are talking about President not anything less”, Abayomi added

Ends.
