You Are a Successful Vice Chancellor- AAUA Senate Tells Ajibefun
Senate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, has decribed the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Igbekele Amos Ajibefun, as a successful vice chancellor who led the senate and the entire university successfully during his tenure.
Senate, the supreme academic authority for the university, yesterday, had its valedictory session in honour of Professor Ajibefun whose tenure expires 5th January, 2020, amidst profuse pour of praises and commendations for the successes the university has recorded since his appointment as the fifth substantive vice chancellor of the university.
The members of the university senate gave shades of laudation to Professor Ajibefun for his impacts and sturdy achievements, describing him variously as “hardworking”, “accessible”, “a rare breed scholar of very high repute.” and a man who is simple hearted and has a large heart.”
In his words, the Dean of postgraduate school, Professor C.A Daramola, said: “You have worked very hard to take the university this far. You are a rare breed scholar of high repute. The university is not a secondary school, so, to have led the university without much rancour is no small achievement. As a Vice Chancellor, you have followed rules and regulations. This senate, by any standard, is not a rubber stamp senate, yet you led us successfully. We wish you goodluck in your future endeavours.”
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Igbekele Amos Ajibefun, in his valedictory speech, said, “The senate I met on assumption of office was strong, dynamic and democratic. The senate as the highest academic organ of this university has discharged its duties in a very responsibke manner. Today, I am happy that I am leaving behind a Senate that is very strong, dynamic, democratic, just and fair.
“I want to express my appreciation to the distinguished senate members of this dustinguished senate for your firmness, dynamism, agility and responsiveness. I cannot thank you enough for the total support for my administration in the pursuit of the mission and vision of this great university. As I conclude my speech, I would like to state that I am confident that the university will continue to attain higher heights,” the Vice Chancellor said.
