WHY SOME MUSLIMS ARE CLOSING THEIR ACCOUNTS WITH POLARIS BANK.
▪︎After leaked email over muslims observing Friday Jumat service.

One of Polaris Bank’s manager, Damilola Adabara sent an email to Yes Centre staff to desist from abandoning duties for Friday prayers.
The message was leaked.

Dear All,
It has been observed that on Fridays, you leave your work desks to attend the Jumat service bearing in mind the impact of your absence on the work flow and productivity of Yes Centre.

Kindly note that there is no provision made anywhere in the Bank’s policy for employees to attend any religious activies during work hours.”
Going forward such permissions will not be granted…….”

After the email was leaked, some muslims started withdrawing their money.
Realising this, Polaris Bank issued a statement of freedom to worship.

“This is to clarify that Nigeria is a secular nation and our bank is guided by this policy. Accordingly, there is no policy in the bank that forbids staff from practicing the religion of their choice…… “
