Born in 1964 to Augustine Omojola Olubode and Abigail Iyabode Ajisafe (Abolemaru), Barr. Ajisafe’s early life was shaped by the values of hard work and resilience. His formative education at St. Pius’s Primary School, Agba Oka Akoko, and Community Grammar School, Ifira Akoko, laid a solid foundation for his eventual rise to prominence.
Between 1982 and 1992, Ajisafe’s life took a challenging but enriching turn. During this period, he moved across Ibadan, Akure, and Lagos, engaging in diverse occupations. In Akure, he honed his skills as an apprentice photographer and videographer with Uncle Falas Photos. A man of many talents, he later delved into factory work, dancing, and farming in Lagos.
In 1992, his unrelenting thirst for knowledge led him to the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, where he graduated in 1994. His journalism career saw him report on sports, economy, entertainment, and politics, sharpening his voice and perspective on national issues. However, Ajisafe’s drive to make a greater impact led him to pursue a law degree at Lagos State University, graduating in 2000 and being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.

From his early involvement with the Social Democratic Party in 1999 to his active role in the All Progressives Congress (APC), he has been a steadfast advocate for democracy. Notably, he has been a cornerstone of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu’s political successes since 2012.

Barr. Ajisafe’s activism began during the SAP riots of 1989. Influenced by the likes of Dr. Tai Solarin and Gani Fawehinmi, he immersed himself in the pro-democracy movement, rubbing shoulders with iconic figures such as Femi Falana, Chief Anthony Enahoro, and Beko Ransome-Kuti. These interactions nurtured his passion for justice, making him a constant presence in Nigeria’s progressive struggles over the decades.
As a student activist, Ajisafe led numerous local and national struggles during his time at NIJ and as the Director of Legal of the Lagos State Student Union Government in 1998. His activism and leadership earned him a reputation as a fearless advocate for the downtrodden.
A voracious reader and thinker, Barr. Ajisafe draws inspiration from literary and ideological giants like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Wole Soyinka, and Dele Giwa. Their progressive ideals have fueled his lifelong commitment to justice, equity, and good governance.
