Senator Alasoadura, Honourable Saka Ogunleye Calls For Enduring Legacies As Obaile Skylight Club Honours Prominent Indigenes.

Obaile was agog on Thursday as important dignitaries converged on the Town Hall, venue of Skylight Club Family Party and conferment of awards on important dignitaries ceremony were held.

Speaking after being presented with award of “excellence in outstanding leadership”, the Minister of State for Niger Delta, Senator Tayo Alasoadura charged those in position of power to always provide services and programs that would outlive them.

” Life is a stage and everybody in power are the actors, with the people being the audience. Sooner or later, the actor quits the stage for another. While there, it is pertinent to put in place programs and structures that would benefit the people and outlive us.”

Similarly, the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, who bagged award for “excellence in community and youth Development”, called on leaders to render selfless service to the people and their communities.

” Those in position of authority must know they are fortunate among many qualified others. This behoves on us to always remember others who are less privileged. By extending our love through giving to them, we are doing the will of God and making the beneficiaries happy.”

Earlier, in his welcome address, President of the club, Mr. Tayo Omodara had described the club as a nonpolitical, non-religious but a sociocultural and philanthropic group with the aim of bringing development to Obaile.

Among others given awards at the ceremony were Secretary to the State Government, Honourable Abegunde Ifedayo, former Commissioner for Transport, Otunba Omoniyi Omodara, former Head of Service, Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole and the Oloba of Uso, Oba Ademola Olanipekun.

Also, a board member of Ondo State Development Property and Housing Corporation, Chief Olapade Olakunle, former President of NULGE, Dr. Olubunmi Eniayewu and Chief Alex Ajipe were also decorated with awards.

Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Owo, Bishop Ayo Fagbemi, who is an indigene, presented the awards to the beneficiaries.
