Senator Tolu Odebiyi has continued his poise to awarding and encouraging excellence among students in his constituency; the lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial district in the National Assembly recently empowered 53 undergraduate students by awarding them scholarship under the TOD Foundation.
The 53 students who are beneficiaries of the empowerment project all received the sum of of N100.000 each
The award ceremony took place at the International Conference Centre of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State .
The lawmaker in his address at the event stated that,” The scholarship scheme is aimed at supporting the educational development of our students during their stay in school, I am rest assured that this scholarship will not only make it easier for them to cover their expenses but also motivate them to strife for excellence”
Sen. Tolu Odebiyi wo is also the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory,(FCT) also stated that he is fully committed to ensuring that the students are afforded the much needed platforms and help to grow and develop. He explained that the Laptops presented to them will also help them to advance their knowledge in technology.
He also enjoined the students to remain focussed in their academic pursuit, according to him, ” we invest in you today because we believe that you are our future, it is our hope that you will all come back someday to contribute your quota to the development of Ogun West Senatorial district”
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Ajibola Olasode thanked the lawmaker for his contribution to their development, in his words,” through this scholarship,my financial burden has been reduced, your generosity towards humanity has inspired me to also help others”
Also Miss Ayinde Grace also praised the lawmaker for the huge gesture, according to her,” I am free for the divine gift of Senator Tolu Odebiyi, he has sow a seed, one which I will always appreciate”
Other beneficiaries at the occasion also appreciated the lawmaker for prioritizing issues that relates to their development, they also promised to remain focussed in their career pursuit.
