NNPP thugs attacked Sorosoke APC support group in Okeagbe

Pandemonium broke out last night at Okeagbe Akoko, the Headquarters of Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State as some hoodlums believed to be supporters of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) unleashed terror on Sorosoke Campaign group, an All Progressive Congress (APC) support group while on their routine campaign outing.

During the attack, no fewer than five people were injured as residents of Okeagbe Community were said to have running helter-skelter for the safety of their lives.

It was learnt that the hred thugs were sympathisers of the NNPP House of Assembly Candidate in Constituency 1 of Akoko North West Local Government.

An eyewitness said but for the intervention of Ondo State Security Network code name Amotekun, the injured would have been more and that people would have been killed as dangerous weapons were freely used by the hoodlums.

The ring leaders of those attack the Sorosoke campaign group are, Odun Agaga Asagunla, Ayo Akande ( Agidi Okan), Dayo, Ojo Taiwo (Tyson) and Ajayi Kayode (Omo Tolani).

It was learnt that the Sorosoke campaign group were attacked when one of the NNPP thugs Odunayo Agaga Asagunla waylaid them accusing the group of stealing NNPP drums.

When the incident was reported at Amotekun office, the officers on ground immediately swung into action and apprehended four of the hoodlums.

The Adele Ajana, High Chief Adewumi and the Secretary to Okeagbe Oba in Council who went to Amotekun office confirm the ugly incident.

The case and the hoodlums arrested with their dangerous weapons have been transferred to the Headquarters of Ondo State Security Network (Amotekun) in Akure for prosecution.

Meanwhile, residents of Okeagbe community have been advised to go about their normal activities while political parties in the area were charged to conduct their campaigns in accordance with INEC campaign guidelines.
