Interior Minister, Tunji-Ojo Records New Height of Achievements
Nigerian Interior Minister, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has accomplished a new height of achievement, as the ministry raked-in over N6 billion in 2024 for services rendered to Nigerians.
The poster boy of President Tinubu administration mentioned this, amongst his his other achievements recently, during the 2025 First Quarter Media briefing of the Interior Ministry at Chelsea hotel in Abuja.
The minister also declared that the quality of Nigerian passport had become a top notch as acknowledged by international certification bodies. He reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had already brought an end to the days when Nigerians would be asked to step aside at airports for verification and validation of their international passports.
The highly performing minister also boasted that Nigerian passports policy had already become highly standardised to meet international best practices.
Tunji-Ojo also underscored the sophisticated technology infrastructure that had been deployed for border control and security across the country. .
He equally praised the support given his ministry by President Bola Tinubu, which had manifested in the technology infrastructure already deployed across international airports in the country. He remarked that the technological upgrades had brought about seamless movements of traveling passengers in the last one year.
More so, Tunji-Ojo also highlighted that 32,640 officers and men were promoted from its four service agencies in 2023; while the promotion exercise in 2024 however, had a record of 20,851. He also added that 10,783 officers and men had been recruited into NIS, NSCDC and FFS from 2023 till the day of the interview.
