Comrade Akilo congratulates Alhaji Yaro on OSMOS approval to operate in Ogun state

An APC stalwart and a former student leader in Ogun state, Comrade Akeem Temitope Akilo, has congratulated the former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Ogun state, Alhaji Ismail Mustapha (a.k.a Alhaji Yaro Ade) on the approval by the State Government for the important role of overseeing the operations of Ogun State Operations Management Services (OSMOS).

The congratulatory message contained in a press release made available on his social media handles declares that “Alhaji Yaro Ade’s appointment as the representative of the reputable company tasked with collecting fees and levies from transport unions is not only a testament to his outstanding capabilities but also to the trust and confidence the government has placed in you.

“This appointment is no small achievement; it highlights the recognition of your commitment and dedication towards enhancing the growth and development of Ogun State. By entrusting you and your team at OSMOS with the responsibility of collecting road taxes on behalf of the State Government, they have shown their confidence in your ability to improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.

Comrade Akilo said, “Road taxes play a vital role in sustaining and enhancing the infrastructure and services of any region. It is through these fees and levies that the state can fund essential projects and improve the overall quality of life for its residents and businesses. Your role in streamlining the collection process and maximizing revenue generation will undoubtedly contribute to the rapid development of Ogun State.

“As you embark on this crucial endeavour, I do not doubt that your experience, expertise, and strong leadership skills will pave the way for success. I encourage you to continue promoting transparency and accountability in the collection of fees and levies, ensuring that contributions made by transport unions are utilized effectively for the betterment of the State.

The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution approving the State Government to appoint Ogun State Operations Management Services ( OSMOS) being a reputable company to collect fees or levies on its behalf from the transport unions to improve on the internally generated revenue ( IGR) of the State from road taxes.

This approval by the State Government portends that OSMOS will join the subsisting unions, associations and organizations in the conduct of park operations and activities in the State with the administration of commercial transportation, ticketing, remittance of income and revenue thereto for the State Government.
