Sulyman Olatunji Buhari, a top loyalist of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has resigned from the PDP.
Tunji Buhari was until his resignation the State Organising Secretary of the PDP in Kwara State.
Several sources in the PDP secretariat in Ilorin informed our correspondent that Buhari tendered his resignation to the party leadership in Ilorin Monday morning.
This medium is unable to independently verify this information as at press time, as calls and messages sent to Buhari returned unanswered.
But a close associate of Buhari informed our correspondent that Buhari had sometimes recently removed himself from all WhatsApp groups related to Kwara politics, including Saraki loyalists groups.
“It has absolutely nothing to do with Saraki. He still has immense respect for his former boss and he is forever grateful to him,” the friend, who asked not to be named said.
“But there will a come in the life of a man that he wants to take his destiny in his own hands. In other words, it is about himself; his personal and business lives and nothing more.”
“He has zero grouse against Dr. Bukola Saraki or anybody else in the dynasty. He has absolutely nothing against the PDP either.”
“He has asked to be allowed to move on with his life and we all wish him well. Every other thing is mere conjectures.”
Our correspondent learnt that Sulyman Buhari has been in politics for close to two decades now.
He first served as the State Chairman of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Kwara state. But when the CPC merged with other parties to form the APC, he transmuted to the State Publicity Secretary of the newly formed party.
He became the Organising Secretary of the PDP when Saraki defected to the PDP in 2018.
