The Health Sector is an integral part of our national setup which must not be overlooked as it plays a vital role in effectiveness and functionality of other sectors.
The nation’s economic development will suffer great setback if the general well-being and healthcare of the people are neglected; hence major stakeholders must actively engaged its resources to pushing for the improvements of the health sector.
This, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, member Federal House of Representative representing Akoko North East/North West who also is the Chairman House Committee on NDDC has successfully made one of the bane of his led representation in the constituency as he has consciously pushed for the advancement of the health sector in Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency.
The Health Care sector in Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency has never been this better in the federal constituency as Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ensured the narrative has been changed for better with the introduction of various incentives which boosted the sector.
Before the inception of the led representation of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, the region was plagued with a poor health sector as many of its health centers lacked the basic health tools and equipments much needed to facilitate good health system.
In time past, members of the Constituency had no option than to visit neighbouring communities or travelling down to the State capital to seek basic health care services, however this ugly trend has been corrected by the highly proactive lawmaker.
On the 8th of March 2021, the Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo procured and donated Office Equipments worth millions of naira to improve the working conditions of health care workers in the Constituency.
Some of the donated items included generating sets, mattress, chairs,tables, motorcycles, cabinets, Ambulances amongst many other items.
According to the Lawmaker during the Presentation in Akoko,” The Covid-19 pandemic has opened our eyes to the need for us as Lawmakers to give our health care sector massive boost and encouragements in the discharge of their duties”
“We will never relent, what we have done is the least of what we can do and we will continue to ensure that we give our utmost best to our people” he added.
It’s the pride of the people to have a leader who genuinely cares for their well-being, it’s the beauy of democracy when the people can lay claim to evidence of the dividends of democracy among them. Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo just like he has contributed immensely to the health sector of his federal constituency has also touched other areas, doing the unprecedented in the process. It’s our hope that more men like him will emerge to push our nation forward.
