PRESS STATEMENT

ADC Governorship Candidate, Plateau State 2023
I condemn in the strongest terms the renewed, barbaric and senseless killings of innocent citizens in Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi, Jos North and other parts of Plateau State. These killings are not only inhumane but represent a total failure of early warning and early response architecture.
My heart bleeds for the families of the victims fathers, mothers and children whose only crime is being citizens of Plateau State. I mourn with them and pray for God to comfort them.
*THE BIG FACTS*
This administration has no excuse of lack of funds.
1. In 2023 alone, Plateau State received N121.71 Billion from FAAC.
2. In the first half of 2024, the state received N45.4 Billion
3. Between January and August 2025, Plateau received N129.83 Billion
4. In Q1 2026 alone, Plateau received N43.62 Billion
5. In May 2026 alone, _N15.83 Billion_ was allocated to Plateau State.
6. From May 2023 to September 2026, Plateau State has received an estimated _N500 Billion to N530 Billion_ from FAAC alone, excluding IGR, Ecological Funds, and other interventions.
APPRECIATION TO MR. PRESIDENT
I wish to sincerely appreciate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, *His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR*, for his magnanimity and special favour to Plateau State. Under his administration, federal allocations to states have tripled, giving Plateau unprecedented resources to develop and secure its people. His bold push for State Police Reform and his fatherly disposition to Plateau State in times of crisis has not gone unnoticed. Plateau State has indeed found favour before the President, and we are grateful.
With this humongous inflow – a threefold increase compared to pre-2023 era due to fuel subsidy removal – there is every need for the Government of Plateau State to prioritize the safety of life and property of Plateau people as enshrined in Section 14(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution.
Security is not just about buying vehicles and sharing money after attacks. It is about:
– Establishing a Plateau State Forensic Intelligence Fusion Centre
– Investing in _Drone Surveillance, CCTV, and Community Early Warning Systems_ for all flashpoints
– Proper funding and equipping of Operation Rainbow and community vigilantes
– Implementation of State Policing framework_ as advocated by President Tinubu
I call on His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang to as a matter of urgency, redirect substantial part of FAAC accruals to technology-driven security and welfare of frontline security personnel.
Plateau people deserve to sleep with their two eyes closed. No amount of money is too much to secure lives.
*Enough is Enough*
