‘Exercise patience by giving Governor Ayedatiwa an elbow room to streamline emerging issues”
(Ola Amuda admonishes APC Members in Akoko North Federal Constituency)
Members of the All Progressive Congress in Akoko North Federal Constituency- consisting of Akoko North East and North West have been admonished to exercise refrain in taking decision to work for another candidate other than Governor Ayedatiwa in the coming Governorship Election. This admonition was made by Pastor Ola Amuda while responding to questions from our Reporter in Akure on certain development in the Area as expressed by some Members of APC in the Federal Constituency as to how they were being neglected.
Ola Amuda: a community leader and former governorship candidate of Accord Party in the 2016 Election in the state noted that as a Political Scientist, he was quite aware that Politics is about “Who gets what, when and how” as stated by Harold D. Lasswell, and that individuals have the right to compete for whatever is available within the political sphere. He however, noted that such pursuit should be done in the overall interest of the party. “Given the fact that allocation of resources may not have been done as it should, our people must exercise refrain and give our dear Governor the lee-way to carefully address the emerging issues as we carefully and properly channel our complaints.”
According to the former aide to late Dr Olusegun Agagu, “There is a Yoruba adage or saying, that is very sacrosanct in our present circumstance. It says ‘Ori bibe ko l’ ogun efori'” (Cutting off a head is not the best prescription for headache). We should not for any reason wish to throw away the baby with the birth water. I believe things will be better as time progresses.”
Agreeing to the fact that there is a limit to the extent of human patience and endurance, he however stated that Governor Ayedatiwa should be given elbow room to address all the issues involved as he has barely spent six (6) months as the Governor. “I appeal to our people to keep on supporting him and eventually vote for him at the coming November Election” he noted.
He none- – the – less, advised political leaders in the area who are in positions of authority to always make necessary adjustments to accommodate the views and yearnings of others because life and indeed politics, involve the spirit of give and take.
