BTO Magic with Tinubu leadership skills
Upon Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s appointment as the Minister of Interior, he inherited a significant backlog of passport applications within the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). Official records indicated that this backlog amounted to 204,332 pending applications.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Minister Tunji-Ojo promptly issued a directive to the NIS to expedite the clearance of this substantial backlog. In a remarkable display of efficiency and dedication, the Nigerian Immigration Service successfully cleared the entire backlog within a matter of weeks.
As a result of the minister’s directive and the NIS’s concerted efforts, Nigerians across all 36 states of the Federation can now expect a significantly improved passport application process. The implementation of this directive has streamlined passport issuance, ensuring that applicants receive their passports within a mere two-week timeframe from the date of application. This achievement represents a substantial improvement in service delivery by the Nigerian Immigration Service under Minister Tunji-Ojo’s leadership.
