The Ajana Afa of Okeagbe Oba Oladunjoye Fajana is to confer chieftaincy titles on twelve (12) well meaning Nigerians, sons and daughters of Okeagbe Akoko “for their contributions to the development of the town”.
It was gathered that the conferment of honorary chieftaincy titles which is slated for 26th November, 2021 was part of activities commemorating the 30th coronation anniversary of Oba Oladunjoye Fajana
The Chieftaincy honorarees are Engr. Akintunde Giwa as Aro-Onile, Evang. Olumuyiwa Asagunla as Odofin, Rear Admiral Samuel Alade as Jagungboye, Elder Michael Bello as Bagbimo, Mr. Ojo Akinniyi as Bobajiroro, Mr. Akindele Adegoke as Jagunmolu.
Others are Mrs Akinyemi Ogbon as Yeye Gbadeniyi, Mr. Akinyemi Ogbon as Gbadeniyi, Mrs. Rebecca Arojo as It’s Lisa and Mrs. Akinyele as Yeye Atuluse and Mr. Dimeji Ojo (Olorigbo) as Elegiri of Aroye Afa.
Speaking with Journalists in Akure, the state capital, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Olori Omo Oba Olusoga Sofolahan and its Deputy Chairman, Prince Foluso Arasanyin said the programme was put together as a drive to ensure the collective development of Okeagbe Akoko land.
According to them, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana had recently told the people of his community that he would continue to recognise eminent dignitaries for their positive contributions to the growth of Okeagbe land.
They said that among his developmental agenda was to ensure that the Okeagbe Akoko evolved into a sustainable city, with special breed of truly resilient people.
They noted that his blueprint titled: ‘Let’s Grow Okeagbe land Together (LEGIT)’ was an idea conceived to change the narrative of the town
‘The honorary title will be a call to service to grow the community into one of the most sustainable and desirable communities in Ondo state”, they stressed.
However, there will a Lecture titled: “The role of Traditional Rulers towards building a viable society” to be held at Okeagbe on Wednesday 24th November, 2021.
Other events line-up include Medical Checkup, Display of Traditional ancestral Crown, Beads and Staff of Office and Football match, Jumat service, and Youth Night out.
All Afa cultulral and traditional events, from Wednesday to Friday will take place within the Palace but the Grand Finale of the anniversary will come up on November 27, 2021 at St. George’s Primary School field, Okeagbe Akoko while the evening will be rounded off with Thanksgiving service.
