Youth Empowerment and Employment Crucial for Social Stability, Says Minister Tunji Ojo
Youth development and job creation across all sectors have been identified as key drivers for societal growth and social stability.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, emphasized this point at the BTO Youth Development Convention, calling on all levels of government to boost youth productivity through employment opportunities and the use of various youth development platforms.
Represented by Professor Utah, Tunji Ojo highlighted that widespread youth unemployment in the country contributes to reliance on social welfare programs, weakens social cohesion, and leads to higher crime rates and civil unrest.
He encouraged young people to embrace vocational training and urged the government to create an environment conducive to youth success in any career they choose. Additionally, he advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to incite violence, especially with the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Saka Ogunleye, congratulated Tunji Ojo on his accomplishments during his first year as a Minister. He also encouraged the youth to excel in their endeavors, noting that the Ondo State government has planned several youth-friendly activities to equip them in various fields.
