Tunji-Ojo’s Leadership Shines as 20,000 Officers Promoted in Line with Tinubu’s Reform Agenda

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), chaired by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, continues to make significant strides in promoting officers and staff, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
In its 5th meeting of the year, the Board approved the promotion of over 20,000 officers across its paramilitary agencies for 2024. This comes on the heels of a similar exercise in 2023, which saw over 30,000 officers elevated, making it the second consecutive year that the CDCFIB has completed such an exercise within a single calendar year. The promotion exercise is a clear indication of the board’s commitment to eradicating career stagnation and ensuring that excellence is recognized and rewarded.
Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in his role as Minister of Interior and Chairman of the CDCFIB, has been praised for his leadership and dedication to reforming Nigeria’s paramilitary services. His efforts align with President Tinubu’s broader “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which seeks to strengthen key institutions, improve governance, and ensure better service delivery across the board.
In his statement, the Minister emphasized the importance of honoring the commitment to ending career stagnation. “This is walking the talk of our promise to eliminate career stagnation in our paramilitary agencies, and demonstrating our dedication to recognizing and rewarding excellence,” Tunji-Ojo said.
