Professor Adeolu Akande : Co-Chairman, Triangle Magazine Editorial Board

Professor Adeolu Akande is the immediate past Board Chairman of the National Communication Commission (NCC).

Professor Akande worked as a journalist with different front line newspapers, which include The Punch, Nigerian Tribune, Omega Weekly Magazine and Gotel radio and television, Yola. He was later appointed the Chief Press Secretary and subsequently the Special Assistant on Media to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar between 2003 and 2007. He was equally appointed the Chief of Staff to Oyo State Government by the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi in 2011 .

Professor Adeolu Akande began his academic caree as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Political Science at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1990. The Political Science graduate of University Ibadan had gone ahead to obtain Masters of Science Degrees in Political Science and a Ph.D Degree in Comparative Politics from the same prestigious University of Ibadan.

He is a professor in the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State. He is also a Director in the Centre for Presidential Studies (CPS), and he co-edited a book titled “Issues In The 2019 General Elections In Nigeria” published in 2020 by the same Centre for Presidential Studies (CPE), where he serves as a Director.

Professor Akande has over twenty publications in reputable local and international journals. He had also attended conferences and workshops both in Nigeria and abroad.

Dr Adedoyin Ajibike Okupe : Member, Triangle Editorial Board

Dr Doyin Okupe ia a medical doctor turned politician and communication giant. He was a two time Presidential Spokesperson to former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Okupe’s background as a physician gave him a huge advantage in his later work in public health and policy advocacy. This equally marked for him, the beginning of a career that seamlessly bridge the fields of medicine and politics.

The Iperu-Remo, Ogun State born Okupe, transitioned from medical practice to politics in 1991 when he joined the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) as the National Publicity Secretary of the party. He later
became a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999 when Nigeria returned to democratic rule.

The MBBS graduate of University of Ibadan served as Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to both Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan. Okupe was saddled with the responsibility of managing the public communication and media relations for the presidency, while in office as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs.

Okupe is deft in the articulate defense of government policies and exceptionally imbued with the ability to professionally and Competently handle public perception of government. He is perceived as a controversial person because of his unmatched ability to vehemently defend policies of, and launder the image of any government.
