Traditional Rulers Backs Akinkuotu As Ondo East APC Chairmanship Candidate
Ahead of local government election in Ondo State that is slated for April, Hon. Wale Akinkuotu has emerged as the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in Ondo East Local Government Area.
Akinkuotu emerged APC candidate following his endorsement by ten out of seventeen painstakingly selected leaders in the local government. Hon. Wale Akinkuotu is the present caretaker chairman of Ondo East Local Government and the leaders have decided that he should continue in office because of his glaring administrative ingenuity.
The 10 leaders that endorsed the candidature of Akinkuotu are Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Hon. Fredrick Otemiyiwa, Chief Folorunsho Awoduyilemi, Engr. Dapo Adesemoye and Chief Akinlotan. Other leaders are Hon. Oladele Michael, Hon. Arowolo Ilemobade, Hon. Temitope Akintunde, Hon. Salami Adesina and Dr. Akintade.
Similarly, all the Olojas and Baales in Ondo East Local Government Area have also thrown their weight behind the candidature of Wale Akinkuotu whom they described as their unanimous choice. The traditional rulers also described Akinkuotu as a super performer and grassroots politician whose acceptability cuts across all nooks and crannies of the local government.
Meanwhile, concerned political leaders in Ondo East Local Government have appealed to Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu not to bulge to the pressures being mounted by certain individuals to substitute the name of Akinkuotu. According to Engr. Adesemoye, he appealed to those scheming to replace the name of Akinkuotu with that of their stooge to desist from any act that can compromise the peace of Ondo East Local Government. “What can guarantee peace in Ondo East Local Government is for result of the primary election that produced Hon. Wale Akinkuotu to be respected, implemented and nothing else”, said Adesemoye.
