The Nigerian Senate has passed the Bill for an Act for the creation of the National Institute for Border Studies, Imeko, Ogun State. The bill was sponsored by Senator Tolu Odebiyi, representing Ogun West Senatorial district.
The establishment of the National Institute for Border Studies, Imeko, Ogun State will ensure to provide for teaching, research, instruction and training of students in border management and for other matters connected.
The senate gave its approval following the consideration of a report which was presented by the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND. The report was presented by Senator Ayo Akinyelure who presented the report on behalf of the committee while it was seconded by Senator Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun Central Senatorial district.
The establishment of the institute for Border Studies, Im Imeko, Ogun State will seek to curb the various irregularities around national borders and also bring to the barest minimum the unscrupulous activities being committed in the region.
