One Year of Impressive Steering of Ondo State Legislative Ship
Rt. Hon. Olamide Adesanmi Oladiji, is the Speaker of the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly. He is the legislator representing Ondo East Constituency in the State Assembly. He has been providing impressivel and inspiring leadership for his colleague in the last one year. Landmark, as the Speaker is popularly known, has equally ensure seamlessly delivery of good governance in the Sunshine State, through the instrumentality of legislation in the last one year.
The Rt. Hon. Oladiji led Ondo State House of Assembly was inaugurated on
June 3, 2023, he has since continue to earn the trust, confidence and loyalty of his colleagues. He had promptly constituted the statutory committees of the State Assembly by ensuring that only the manifestly qualified lawmakers were made the chairmen of sensitively strategic committees.
The Bamoye of Ondo Kingdom, and his colleagues in the Ondo parliament have in the last one year ensured harmonious working relationship with the Executive arm of government. As a loyal party man, the Rt. Hon Speaker demonstrated total loyalty to the former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and he is also completely.loyal now to the successor ; Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
The successful entrepreneur, had rallied his colleagues to pass the historic bill for the creation of 33 Local Council Development Areas, to complement the existing 18 Local Government Areas in Ondo State. Although the created Local Council Development Areas have been a subject of litigation; however, they were passed into law by the State Assembly
to enhance grassroots development across the Sunshine State.
As a lawmaker representing Ondo East constituency, and also as an illustrous son of Ondo Kingdom ; Rt. Hon. Oladiji has in the last one year impacted his constituency and Ondo Kingdom at large. He has use his good office to lobby the approval of Ondo town Bye-Pass Road project in this year’s budget of the state. The Bye-Pass road project covers the stretch of Italurowo-Ayeyemi- Lotogbe. He has equally lobbied the approval of Bolorunduro-Kolawole Road project in this year’s budget of the state.
The Ondo Assembly Speaker, has undoubtedly done a lot in the last one year bring visible and lasting developmental projects to Ondo Kingdom. He has since Instituted empowerment schemes for the youths, market women, artisans, the elderly and the needy in Ondo Kingdom.
As an unrepentant lover of education, Rt. Hon. Oladiji has also in the last one year instituted scholarship schemes for a number of academically gifted, but indigent students in Ondo kingdom. Several indigent students from Ondo Kingdom are currently on scholarship in various educational institutions across the country, courtesy of the magnanimity of the Rt Hon. Olamide Oladiji.
More so, the number three citizen in Ondo State, has further endeared himself to the people of Ondo kingdom with the facilitatation of employment for the sons and daughters of the kingdom, into the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue. The Honourable Speaker has also facilitated employment of Ondo kingdom sons and daughters into the Ondo State Civil Service.
In his quest to enhance educational performance of students within Ondo kingdom, the Bamoye of Ondo kingdom has at various times organized organised free coaching programme for students across all cadres.He has equally followed this up with the facilitation of university admissions for some of the beneficiary students that are now studying Medicine, Law, Engineering and other professional coursee.
The Ondo born lawmaker has also been very instrumental to the prevailing atmosphere of peace in Ondo kingdom and Ondo State at large in the last one year. This fact is informed by the expeditious passage of several Executive Bills into law by the House of Assembly in the last one year. This has evidently engendered the collaborative efforts tthat is ensuring prompt delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Ondo State.
Commendably, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji has in the last one year raised the bar of administration in the Ondo State House of Assembly. Staff of the Ondo State House of Assembly, could not have wished for a better Speaker. The Speaker has particularly given priority attention by the staff welfare.
Undoubtedly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji has proven his leadership worth to his colleagues and the good people of Ondo State in the last Ondo year. He has demonstrated brilliance, courage, loyalty, and innovation in the last one year. There is no doubt that the Speaker is poised to deliver better legislative services and inspiring leadership to ensure peace, development and harmonious co-exiatemce in th Sunshine State.
