Race for Ondo House of Assembly Speakership Hits on
Even as the search for the new speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly continues, the political space has continued to witness new political orchestrations and permutation.
Some returning members of the House have continued to push themselves to have this much coveted seat, while other members of the house have continued to pitch their tents to their preferred candidate to emerge as the new speaker.
With the outgoing speaker, Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun set to take a bow in few weeks time, the house will be hoping to elect a new speaker whose experience and qualities will lead the house to a new dispensation which they hope will help advance new policies and as well as building more stable relationship with the executive to advance the State.
Based on findings by Triangle News International, at the moment, there are three men and one woman have indicated their interest.
Lawmaker from Ondo East/West local government, Olamide Oladiji popularly known as Landmark, is among the front runner for the seat, and from all indication, it seems as if the seat might be for him to win as he is the only candidate from the central.
Moreover he is a returning member of the house and if elected, the house will definitely enjoy from his wealth of experience and leadership skills.
Also we have Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan, who is another returning member of the house from Ilaje constituency 1 is another Lawmaker who will be hoping to emerge the new speaker.
Information has also revealed that Hon. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi popularly known as Wesco from Owo Constituency 1, has also thrown his weight into the race while another female Lawmaker from Ilaje is also expected to formally declare for the race.
