GNI, as fondly called, is a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives. He represents the Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency in Ogun State.As he celebrates another year, it is an opportunity to reflect on his distinguished contributions to public service, governance, and leadership in Nigeria.

Earning a First-Class degree in Accounting from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1986, followed by an MBA from the University of Lagos, he rapidly ascended in the financial sector. His distinguished career spans investment banking, financial advisory, project financing, and stockbroking, with an impressive record of restructuring underperforming state assets and mobilizing investments for economic growth.
His tenure as Group Managing Director of Gateway Holdings Limited, the investment company of Ogun State, was particularly transformative. Under his leadership, the company successfully repositioned state-owned assets, facilitated key public-private partnerships, and drove economic development initiatives that impacted the state’s infrastructure and trade landscape.
In the political sphere, GNI has earned widespread respect as a leader with a deep understanding of governance and the socio-economic challenges facing Ogun State and Nigeria at large. His three gubernatorial bids in Ogun State underscored his resilience and commitment to serving his people.
