Oseni Oyeniyi is undoubtedly an exceptional egg-head that is positioned to serve in the Akeredolu’s administration as a Special Adviser. He is eminently qualified, intellectually gifted and robustly resourceful to add value to governance in Ondo State in the capacity of a Special Adviser.
The Ikare Akoko born Oseni is an Environmental expert and consultant who has done so well to distinguish himself in his chosen fields of endeavours. He has thus far garnered years of experience in several environmental management and impact predictions of developmental projects for States and multinational companies.
The 45 year old Oyeniyi was also the Chief Executive Officer and the Lead Environmental Consultant for Unicorn and Oryx Limited until his appointment as a Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu in October 2017. He also doubled as Ondo State Education Secretary for Akoko North East from October 2017 to March 2021.
While Oseni served as Education Secretary of Akoko North East Local Government, he efficiently oversaw the activities of Universal Basic Education Authority in the local government. He creditably
managed and supervised about 45 primary schools and 12 junior
secondary schools from October 2017 to March 2021.
The Environmental Consultant has proven his worth in waste
management and has also
coordinated several multi million naira projects of various kinds ranging from World Bank sponsored projects, NNPC and Ports projects. He also handled the coordination of the World Bank sponsored 2008 Lagos Household Survey.
Oyeniyi equally distinguished his technical prowess as a Nigerian expatriate that worked with a German firm that handled the
Environmental Impact Assessment of the World Bank proposed landfill DBO project at Olusosun, Lagos in 2008. He had also consulted widely for several companies that handled the reclamation and development of Islands on Lagos Lagoon in Lagos State. He has likewise managed complex projects in critical Impact Mitigation and Assessment for companies and government institutions.
He ventured into politics in 2011 when he contested election, albeit unsuccessfully into the Akoko North East House of Assembly seat on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) .
The Ikare Akoko bred Oyeniyi is an MSc holder in Environmental Chemistry and Pollution Control from the University of Ibadan in 2011. He had earlier obtained B.Tech. in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2001.
He has over the years garnered technical skills that include
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Impact Predictions and Analysis, Education in Management
Mining and Dredging Projects, Water and Waste Water Management and HSE Audit and Assessment. Other outstanding technical skills of Oseni also include Environmental and Industrial Research and Analysis,
Technical Bid Preparation and Evaluation and Waste Management in Solid and Hazardous Petroleum.
He has handled and delivered several projects for World Environmental Systems Nigeria Limited in the capacity of a Project Coordinator. One of his flagship projects is the Lagos Household Survey- a World Bank Sponsored project in 2008.
Oyeniyi has attended several courses, seminars and trainings within and outside of Nigeria. Some of the conferences he has so far attended include COP 26 United Nations Framework Project for Change Conference at Glasgow in 2021, SUBEB Leadership Course on Strategic Management and Policy at NIEPA, Ondo town in 2021, SUBEB Leadership Course at NIEPA, Ondo town in 2019 and Strategies for a more Effective EIA Progress at the Federal Ministry of Environment in 2010. He equally attended training on Water, Environment And Solid Waste Management organized by WES Nigeria Limited / Milbor Pita Inc. U.S.A in 2006 and Environmental/Social Issues organized by Lagos Metropolitan Area, which was a World Bank Assisted project on Transport Authority (LAMATA) in 2004.
He is a member of Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), member Chartered Institute of Environmental Health U.K and International Association for Impact Assessment.
Oseni Oyeniyi is a devout Christian and he is happily married. The marriage is blessed with children as he is poised to redouble his efforts to ensure a better and efficiently administered Sunshine State under the leadership of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
