ONDO STATE SHUTTLE BUS SCHEME MARCHING FORWARD INSPITE OF DETRACTORS
The attention of the Ministry of Transport has been drawn to a piece written by one A.D. Poweide where he made mischievous claims that the government had stopped the Free Shuttle Bus Scheme.
I wish to state equivocally that it is wrong for anyone to state that Ondo State Government has stopped the scheme. This, to say the least is a wicked and malicious lie, crafted to tarnish the image of the Government of Ondo State.
A frivolous allegation of this nature can only come from a mind that is totally disconnected from the present realities.
A Government that added an additional 5 Buses to the fleet of the Shuttle Buses earlier this year and already is in the process of procuring more buses as captured in the 2025 Budget which was presented to the House of Assembly today, cannot be said to have stopped the Free Shuttle Buses Scheme.
Mr. Poweide is hereby advised to confirm the current situation of the scheme before rushing to release pungent junk to the air.
Mr Poweide is to note that the scheme was in 12 local government areas before this administration, but went ahead to extend the scheme to 17 LGA’s and the commencement of the boat shuttle in Ilaje and Ese-Odo LGA.
This government is committed to the scheme and will continue to allow our children to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
