Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Endorses Aiyedatiwa Ahead of November 16 Election
In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, expressed his support for Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the state gears up for its November 16 governorship election.
Tunji-Ojo praised Aiyedatiwa’s administration for its achievements, particularly in education and workers’ welfare.
He highlighted the governor’s commitment to building the “next generation of entrepreneurs” in Ondo State through initiatives such as tech and entrepreneurship clinics, as well as startup funds ranging from 500,000 to one million naira.
“He’s performed very well in terms of what he has done, interms of education , in treating the workers well among other areas, for example we have a Governor who said we want to build the next generation of entrepreneurs in Ondo State, built tech and entrepreneurs clinic, gave startup funds in the region of 500,000, one million naira among others”, he said.
Acknowledging tensions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the primary elections, Tunji-Ojo commended Aiyedatiwa for successfully mediating the disputes, resulting in a unified party.
He noted, “Today, the APC is going into the election as one united family,” a critical factor as the party prepares to face its opponents at the polls.
In the upcoming election, Aiyedatiwa will face formidable challengers, including Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and 15 other party candidates who are running against him, the main challengers, Aiyedatiwa and Agboola both of whom have significant followings and are expected to put up a string contest.
