Dr. Kayode Ajulo has described the death of Mr. Olubunmi Afuye as a great loss to the Nigerian Union of Journalist, (NUJ) as well as to the people of Ondo State.
He made this known in Abuja while speaking to newsmen about the untimely death of Mr. Afuye. Mr Afuye, popularly known as ‘Bumbam’, was killed alongside two people, including a policeman and motorcyclist, on Thursday at Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area
Afuye, who, until his untimely death, was the Public Relations Officer of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, worked with the state-woned radio, OrangeFM.
He was driving along the road when he was shot by the armed robbers while escaping after the operation.
According to Dr. Kayode Ajulo in his condolence message to the family of the departed and to the Nigerian Union of Journalist, Ondo State Chapter, Mr. Olubunmi Afuye was by all description an excellent and highly talented individual who was well loved by all.
Dr. Kayode Ajulo also stated that while he was the Chairman of the OSRC, the late Afuye was pivotal to the success of his tenure as he showed himself to be a true progressive who is always ready to go the extra mile for the common good of all.
He also condoled with Mr Afuye’s family, and the Management and Staff of Elizade University where Bunmi Afuye worked as the Public Relations Officer of the Institution
According to him, “May Almighty God grant the departed soul eternal bliss and comfort his loved ones and colleagues as they grapple with the painful loss,”Ajulo said.
