Man Dies While Watching Football At A Bar In Lagos
A man in his middle age, whose identity remains unknown, tragically passed away while watching a football match at a local bar along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
This unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday, May 16th.
The individual, a regular patron at the open bar, entered the establishment, sat down, and began watching a football game until he drifted off to sleep.
Despite attempts to rouse him after the match concluded, he was unresponsive and motionless.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the occurrence, which was reported at the Elere Police Division.
Hundeyin stated, “The proprietor of a bar situated along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway informed the Elere Division that around 6:15 pm on Thursday, a male customer in his 50s, whose identity and location are currently unknown, came into the open bar to watch television.”
“It was later observed that he had dozed off while seated, and when efforts were made to awaken him, it was established that he had passed away. Detectives from the division inspected the scene, where they found the deceased in a lifeless state on the chair, devoid of any signs of violence.”
“The body has been transported to the mortuary at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba, Lagos State, for a postmortem examination. Ongoing measures are being taken to locate his family.”
