LAWMAKER CONDEMNS ATTACK ON HIIS KINSMEN,CAUTIONS SUPARE YOUTHS.
The Lawmaker representing Akoko South West Constituency 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly Akogun Olugbenga Omole has condemned attacks on Oka Community by youths from Supare Akoko.
This followed reported plan by Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority to execute a project within the Community.
It is a known fact the the land that borders Supare and Emure specifically Aba Ajulo and Ago Flower has been acquired by people from Oka for years and they have been farming there peacefully without any problem with their host Community.
As Law abiding citizens the farmers approached the Court when they got information that their farmland will be taken away from them.
It’s so sad and unfortunate that Supare youths took the law into their hands by attacking the farmers inflicting serious injuries on them in their farm,even while they were leaving the farm their vehicles were vandalized.
Omole appealed to the Party concerned to allow the court process to take its course.
The Lawmaker tated that no one has monopoly of violence and advise the community leaders in Supare to call their people to order as no meaningful Development can be achieved in a rancorous environment.
In a Press Release signed by the Lawmaker he gave kudos to the State Commissioner of Police Mr Bolaji Salami for his swift response when the report got to him yesterday.
I appreciates the efforts of the Paramount Ruler Olubaka of Oka,Oba(Dr) Yussuf Adebori Adeleye,OON for prevailing on Oka Indegenes not to retaliate and sue for peace as he summons a peace meeting tomorrow.
Efforts are being made to evacuate my people from the crisis area pending the time an amicable solution will be arrived at.
I want to use this opportunity to call on the security agents in the Local Government to fish out the perpetrators of these heinous acts.
It’s an unfortunate incident that is avoidable.
Supare and Oka Communities are both situated in Akoko South-West Local Government with a history of peaceful co-existence over the years until the recent clashes allegedly instigated by Supare Youths a development which is threatening the relative peace.
