Purported Petition to the Code of Conduct Bureau by “Integrity Watch Nigeria” on Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; handiwork of A Faceless Group Fronting for Political Mischief

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous and utterly baseless petition purportedly submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) by a self-styled and non-existent group calling itself Integrity Watch Nigeria (IWN), seeking an investigation into the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) status and eligibility for public office.

Let it be made unequivocally clear: we are fully aware of those behind this orchestrated plot. The so-called Integrity Watch Nigeria is nothing more than a shadowy front, assembled for the sole purpose of maligning the hard-earned reputation of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Our investigations have revealed that this charade is being coordinated and funded by an Akoko-born failed politician, Engr. Michael Adeyanju, whose notoriety for political desperation and blackmail is well known across Ondo State. Adeyanju’s latest attempt to resurface through this cowardly campaign of falsehood will fail, just as his previous attempts to gain relevance have repeatedly failed.

On the So-Called “NYSC Controversy”, we wish to State, that this matter is not new. The issue of Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s NYSC record was exhaustively investigated and laid to rest over two years ago, during his ministerial nomination and screening processes under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
At that time, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in an official clarification, affirmed the authenticity and validity of Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s service certificate. This position was further reinforced by the Nigerian Senate, following due diligence during his screening.

In addition, credible national media organizations conducted independent investigations, all of which confirmed that there was no infraction or wrongdoing on the part of Hon. Tunji-Ojo. His public record remains impeccable, transparent, and fully compliant with the constitutional and legal requirements for holding public office.

It is shameful that, despite these verifiable facts, certain politically irrelevant and frustrated individuals are attempting to resurrect a dead issue to tarnish the image of a Minister who has become a symbol of integrity, innovation, and results-driven governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Let it be stated emphatically: this renewed wave of propaganda is nothing but a calculated act of blackmail by disgruntled elements who cannot match the performance and credibility of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, either in politics or public service.

We hereby issue a stern warning to those behind this latest campaign of calumny, particularly Engr. Michael Adeyanju and his hirelings masquerading as civil society actors, to desist forthwith from this path of deliberate mischief.

The patience of well-meaning supporters of Hon. Tunji-Ojo and indeed the good people of Ondo State should not be mistaken for weakness.
We shall no longer tolerate these reckless assaults on the reputation of a distinguished public servant, nor shall we hesitate to pursue all legitimate means, including legal and public exposure, to put an end to this unprovoked campaign of falsehood.

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has continued to deliver on his mandate with uncommon commitment and patriotism, contributing immensely to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda. No amount of blackmail or concocted petitions can derail his focus or the ongoing transformation of the Ministry of Interior under his watch.

We call on the public and relevant institutions to disregard this latest charade by impostors posing as civil society advocates. The facts are clear, the records are public, and the truth remains unshaken, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has done no wrong.
