IBI GIGA AMBASSADORS EXTOL WORKERS, URGES SUSTENANCE OF INDUSTRIAL HARMONY FOR GREATER PROSPERITY
As the world marks INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ DAY 2020, workers in Ondo State have been extolled for their contributions to the prosperity and well-being of the State.
In a statement, the Directorate of the Ibi Giga Ambassadors, (IGA), a foremost support group in Ondo State, described the spirit of the people as the greatest asset of any nation, adding that “anything else that seeks the breakdown of this spirit is a danger to the security of our collective existence.”
The group regrets that many Nigerians have become afraid of the future due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has crippled global economy; security challenges, increasing discontent, doctrines which assault democracy and freedom, and a growing mass of people seeking assistance and any opportunity to earn a decent meal.
It noted that despite all these encumbrances, the labour force in Ondo State have through their efforts and commitment kept giving the state cause for confidence as there has not been any evidence of what is termed as a broken spirit.
Ibi Giga Ambassadors is not saying it is yet Uhuru in Ondo State but we believe in the capacity of the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration to see us through this season and beyond. So far he has been able to keep our finances stable, bills paid and employment generated. He has vouched to continue to give Ondo State citizens the services that they have a right to expect and though the period is depressing, the Governor has continually demonstrated his commitment not to fall short in this regard.
As evident in the last few years, the Government and labor force in Ondo State have worked and are still working together as one great family to build and sustain Ondo State. What has been achieved so far has been due to a unity of purpose, the will to work together and, focus on the interest and welfare of the people of Ondo State.
The IGA which is a foremost support group canvassing for the re-election of Arakunrin Akeredolu for a second term in office, thanked the leadership of the industrial unions in the state for the peaceful and harmonious relationship, urging them to continue to cooperate with the state government to advance the interest and welfare of their members.
