“I will never drop PDP”- Bode Obanla

Speaking on the outcome of the just concluded Gubernatorial election in Ondo State which saw the incumbent Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN of the All Progressive Congress (APC) emerge victorious over the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Eyitayo Jegede and Barr. Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labor Party, Mr Bode Obanla, a PDP Chieftain has expressed his thoughts about the conduct and result of the election as well as the position and future of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

According to him, in every election there must surely be a winner, and the October 10 Gubernatorial election in the State has seen Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN emerge winner even though there are various issues surrounding the candidate and the conduct of the election which all marred the outcome.

He however stated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is in the process of setting up a legal team to challenge the outcome of the poll.

Also he stated that although the people voted for them, however the Opposition Party were involved in vote buying which saw them buying the conscious of the people which greatly influenced the outcome of the election.

He also added that despite the failure of the party to win the election, it’s his resolve to stay within the party and put in place structure that will move the party forward.

In his words,” we will stay in the party,rejig it, restructure it and clamp down on anyone who might want to destroy what we have”

He also emphasized on the need for the party to have a father figure who will be effective on leading and managing the party.

“Fatai Adams, the leader of the party now, is a cool headed person who is also calculative. He has been leader of the party since 1998”

He enjoined all the members of the party to join hands together to ensure that there is a collective agreement and working to restoring the party to its rightful place.
