HON. FESTUS AKINGBASO RECEIVES LEADERSHIP AWARD IN LONDON… as Makanres say award well deserved…Agbelusi Ganiyu reporting
“A good thing or person is obvious to many”, they say. This is very apt in the case of Hon. Festus Olarewaju Akingbaso Fessywest, the Member of House of Representatives representing Idanre/Ifedore Local Government Federal Constituency was given the African Leadership Award under the auspices of Triangle Media International in partnership with the Face of Africa Leadership during this year’s edition of the event held in London tagged, “London ’24”
Hon. Tunde Aladenola, who collected the award on behalf of Hon. Akingbaso during the event held at 29-31 Hare St, London SE18 6NE, UK thanked the organizers for recognizing the commendable and enviable deeds of Hon. Akingbaso, both in the House of Representatives and outside where his philanthropic and humane lifestyles had positively touched and changed the lives of many people for better. He assured that the parliamentarian will see the award as a challenge and impetus to do more for his people. He revealed that Hon. Akingbaso was unable to be present physically at the event venue because of some other vital state matters requiring his presence.
Among other Nigerians that were given the prestigious award were Cardinal Odunmbaku MFR aka “Baba Eto”, Mr. Tayo Akinde, Chief of Staff to Lagos State Government, Revd. Mother Esther Ajayi, who was among those physically present to collect the much cherished award, Gov. Diri of Bayelsa State who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary and one of his Senior Aides.
Reacting to the development, Hon. Mrs Mercy Bola Akinlami, a wide traveled and prominent community leader, saw the award as well deserved because, according to her, Hon. Akingbaso had served his people and the nation with utmost patriotism, dedication and unalloyed loyalty. She noted how the parliamentarian had been known and noted for using his financial resources to help his people even before veering into politics, which further availed him opportunities to serve his people the more.
Hon. Adekunle Akinlalu “Gay”, PDP Chairman in Idanre Local Government expressed happiness at the development with which he said Hon. Akingbaso had projected the good name and image of Idanre to the world. He noted that his good manners, philanthropist life and love for his people earned him the ” Omoluka” tag which everybody calls him. He expressed optimism that more of such would still come from other notable bodies and organizations as he continues to prove his mettle.
A social commentator and human right activist, Miss Yemisi Akinduro alias “Akekaka” opined that he merited such award because ”he is a man of the people who will go to any length to make life better for his people”. She prayed for more blessings for him.
