As Nigeria join the rest of the world to celebrate the Global Hand-washing Day 2021, ProSwiftCare Nig Ltd, Producer of all Armstrong Product took to the Government College Ikoyi, Lagos State where it educated students of the institution on the need to imbibe the culture of hand-washing in their daily activities.
October 15 is Global Hand-washing Day, a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of hand washing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. This year’s celebration of the Global Hand-washing Day is themed,
“Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together,”
Mr. Egbeola Damilola, the Corporate Sales and Marketing Executive of ProSwiftCare Nig Ltd while addressing the students stated that this unprecedented time provides a unique impetus to institutionalize hand hygiene as a fundamental component of health and safety.
In his words, ” the learnings from the past year have emphasized the need for collective action to address the historic neglect of hand hygiene investments, policies, and programs once and for all.”
Also the MD of ProSwiftCare Nig Ltd, Mrs. Ibiyemi Durosinmi-Etti stated that Hand-washing is a ‘first-line’ defense in preventing outbreaks and reducing the toll of both current and future pandemics.
She also stated,” As we enter a new normal, beyond COVID-19, our future is at hand. This year’s theme, “Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together,” calls for coordinated action as we actively work toward universal hand hygiene.”
The Students were shown taught and shown how to properly used water and soap to properly wash their hands while an assessment test was also conducted amongst them to evaluate their knowledge on health care practices as related to taking good care of themselves.
Miss Oye Titiloluwa, an SSS 3 student of the school while appreciating the organizers of the event stated that the event has properly educated them on how they can properly prevent the infection from germs and diseases using soap and water in order to stay healthy and active for their academic activities.
At the end of the assessment test, in the Senior Category, the over-all best prize was given to Iyanda Abraham while Ibe Elizabeth and James Peace came second and third respectively; in the junior category Mustapha Hikmah came first, followed by Paulinus Victor Peter and Akapo Boluwatife James
