Ondo State Governor,Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN has given assent to the Multi-Door Court Law today at the Executive Council Chamber of the Governors office Akure.
The event has in attendance the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly Rt.Hon.Bamidele Oleyelogun who was represented by the Deputy Speaker,Rt.Hon.
Samuel Aderoboye,the Chief Judge of Ondo State,Hon. Justice Williams Akintoroye, State Executive Members
and some members of the State House of Assembly.
Speaking on the importance of Multi-Door court Law,the Governor said the new law would bring about alternative Dispute Resolution which would tremendously assist the legal system of Ondo State.
Describing Multi-Door Court as the best option for Conflict resolutions,the Governor enjoined legal practioners to always encourage people to make use of this new opportunity as it would go a long way in bringing peace and harmony to the society..
He further stated the the citizens should advantage of the alternative resolution,the people go there and settle disputes amicably and let us make the
environment friendly for everyone and not see ourselves as adversaries.
The Speaker while presenting the documents for accent explained that the new law would no doubt create an avenue for alternative dispute resolution, saying that it would also promote growth and effective functioning of Justice system in the state and
expressed optimism that the Multi-Door Court would go a long way in enhancing easy access to Justice.
He thanked other lawmakers for their cooperation at all times, saying that the bill sailed through through their collaborative efforts.While appreciating the Governor for supporting this vision,the Chief Judge of Ondo State,Hon.Justice Williams Akintoroye said the people of the State would forever be grateful to him for giving accent to this law.
According to him,the best way to address disputes is through alternative conflict resolution.
The State House of Assembly passed the bill into law on the 9th of August,2022 through a unanimous votes by the lawmakers.
