FALH 2026: Nigerians Overseas Take Centre Stage with Dialogue on Harnessing Diaspora for Nigeria’s Growth
A major highlight of Nigeria’s intellectual and leadership calendar is set for Thursday, April 2, 2026, as the Face of Africa Leadership Honours hosts its anniversary lecture and dinner to mark the 10th Anniversary of Triangle International Magazine.
The lecture, themed “Harnessing the Role of Nigerians in the Diaspora for National Development – Collaboration, Investment, Knowledge Transfer, and Civic Engagement,” will explore how the Nigerian diaspora can be a catalyst for national growth through strategic partnerships, civic participation, and knowledge exchange.
The event will be chaired by Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, while the keynote address will be delivered by Professor OJO Emmanuel Ademola, Africa’s first Professor of Cybersecurity and Information Technology Management. His lecture is expected to shed light on how diaspora expertise in technology and innovation can be harnessed to strengthen Nigeria’s global competitiveness.
The event will also grace the presence of special guest speaker, Prof.Funmi Olonisakin, Vice-Principal (International) and Professor of Security, Leadership and Development at King’s College London.
A distinguished panel of discussants will enrich the conversation, including Mr. Kola Adesina MFR, Group Managing Director of Sahara Energy Group; Prince Bimbo Roberts Afolayan, Founder of the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) in the UK; and Mrs. Keji Moses, the first Black African woman to serve as Lord Mayor of Canterbury, UK. Their diverse experiences in energy, diaspora investment, and civic leadership will provide practical insights into how Nigerians abroad can contribute meaningfully to national development.
Moderation will be handled by seasoned journalists: Mr. Seun Okinbaloye, host of Politics Today and Sunday Politics on Channels Television, and Mr. Kolawole Johnson, broadcast journalist and anti-corruption crusader.
The anniversary dinner following the lecture will celebrate Triangle International Magazine’s decade-long contribution to African discourse, leadership, and development. The gathering promises to be a convergence of thought leaders, policymakers, and diaspora stakeholders committed to shaping Nigeria’s future through collaboration and innovation.
