Exclusive: Lucky Aiyedatiwa may replace Gbenga Edema as OSOPADEC chair
A former board member of the NDDC from Ondo State, Lucky Ayedatiwa, has been shortlisted as one of the favourites to replace Gbenga Edema as OSOPADEC chairman, Triangle news has reliably gathered.
Edema is expected to step down as OSOPADEC chair anytime soon following his confirmation as NDDC commissioner form Ondo State.
Edema and other nominees sent by President Muhammadu Buhari were screened and confirmed by the Senate on Thursday.
A source at Alagbaka Government House confirmed to Triangle that Ayedatiwa tops the list of those who have been shortlisted to succeed Edema.
The source added that “he is seriously being considered for the job following the political abracadabra that played out during the last general elections.”
Ayedatiwa, it was gathered, was Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s preferred choice for the APC Southern senatorial district ticket before the national leadership of the party compensated the then incumbent with a return ticket who eventually lost the election.
