Ex-Student Activist, Comrade Akilo, Declares Intention for LG Chair in Ogun
Ijebu North East Local Government Area, Ogun State – Akeem Temitope Akilo, a seasoned leader and grassroots advocate, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Chairman of Ijebu North East Local Government Area under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akilo, a former student activist, made this declaration on Monday, August 12, 2024, after extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders. His vision is built on a comprehensive program that addresses critical areas such as local government administration, commerce, infrastructure, education, sports, security, health, women affairs, and social development.
Akilo’s administration promises to bring transformative change, innovative leadership, and inclusive governance to the local government area. His programs include modernizing local government administration, enhancing staff welfare, developing new marketplaces, upgrading infrastructure, renovating primary school buildings, establishing guidance and counseling programs, empowering youth through sports, and more.
Akilo’s declaration speech emphasized the need for bold and innovative leadership, saying, “Our communities are eager for fresh solutions, modernized infrastructure, effective leadership, and inclusive governance that puts the needs of our people at its core.”
He urged everyone to join him on this journey of confidence and change, saying, “Let us work together to build a local government area that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
