A federal lawmaker representing Ose/Owo Federal Constituency, Timehin Adelegbe, has described the appointment of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as well deserving.
Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who until his ministerial nomination was a serving federal lawmaker in the 10th Assembly, represented Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency.
Tinubu announced on Wednesday that Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, following his confirmation by the Senate, will head the new Marine and Blue Economy Ministry.
In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Hon. Adelegbe attributed the geometric rise of BTO in the political scene to the orchestration of the divine.
“I see it as a grace of God that BTO is capable; having served as house committee chairman NDDC in the 9th assembly, he is capable, and it is a good thing that President Bola Tinubu fished him out to serve in his cabinet.”
While addressing the speculations that there is a fracas between BTO and the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN over his emergence, Hon. Adelegbe stated that there’s nothing of the sort as they are mere speculations without any iota of truth.
“The governor is not even around; he has not said anything to anyone, so if anyone is peddling rumours that Akeredolu is not happy with BTO, I won’t believe it”.
Also, Hon. Adelegbe expressed his confidence that BTO will deliver in his office; he said, “BTO succeeded with a huge portfolio in the 9th assembly; NDDC is no small committee to head, and if he can succeed there, I don’t think there is anywhere he won’t sit.
“The two major agencies under marine and economy are NPA and NIMASSA, and the BTO I know is a very smart man, and I know he has the capacity to deliver.”
He also stated that federal lawmakers from Ondo State have a cordial relationship as they are all partners in progress, all working together to ensure the growth of their respective federal constituencies.
