My lame man opinion is that Alhaji Buni is neither chairman or acting chairman of the APC , but chairman of “The Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee” this is a committee within the party and it’s not a paid job or executive position……. Just like Aketi said on channels yesterday , if the judgement had gone other way , it would have been a perverse judgement.
- A governor or president working within his or her party ( e.g to preside over primary election or election appeal committee, don’t forget both APC and PDP do this all the time ) or taking responsibility among his colleagues ( e.g chairman governors forum, chairman southwest forum or president of Ecowas and African Union etc) cannot be said to have taken an extra executive position.this cannot and should not be the intention of the drafters of the constitution as all these are positions in tandem with their job and responsibilities.
Does it mean that Vice President cannot be chairman National economic council (NEC ) so all his action so far is null and void?
A governor or president or deputy governor or Vice President is a member of a political party and remains that even after his tenure as governor or president.
As regards power to nominate to INEC, if the NEC of the party empower anybody to do it irrespective of who you are so be it , it’s a valid nomination from the party.
I AM NOT A LAWYER O…….Alex Ajipe.
