Ajulo Charges Gov. Akeredolu to Ensure the Release of Ajulo
Our attention has been drawn to the publication in print and electronic media of the kidnap of one Ajulo by unknown persons in Akoko on the 5th of January, 2020. The said publication which was captioned: Gunmen kidnap Ajulo in Ondo has generated a lot of responses from different quarters.
In response to the above, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo said ‘I have received calls from various well-wishers and friends of mine, locally and internationally, who out of concern, inquired to ascertain the veracity of the said publication. It is pertinent to state that I am quite hale and hearty without any injury or harm’.
He further stated that he was never in Akoko on the said date neither is he related to the victim, James Tolorunju Ajulo who was alleged to have been kidnapped on the 5th of January, 2020 by some unknown persons. Dr. Ajulo however noted that the present predicament of the victim has made him a brother and a comrade and all hands must be on deck to ensure his immediate release from the dungeon of the kidnappers.
Inquiries have shown that the said victim is a ward Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), at Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government area of Ondo State. According to reports, Ajulo was kidnapped at his residence at Ibaka quarters of Akungba-Akoko yesterday.
Dr. Ajulo while soliciting for the intervention of the Ondo State Gov. urges his Excellency to set every security apparatus in motion and ensure the release of the victim without any harm to him.
In his final words Dr. Kayode Ajulo stated that ‘While I solemnly condemn the spate of kidnapping in the country, it is my belief that the security apparatus set up by the South-West Governors will drastically reduce the rate of kidnap and other social vices in record time’.
