*A Birthday Tribute to A Human Lion, JAF*
From the title of this piece, one would have an idea of the person in focus. It vividly describes the personality of the great one- JAF; fearless, bold, outspoken and courageous he is, an activist who has lent his voice to great causes that have had impacts on humanity. No doubts, he has demonstrated bravery and courage in the face of oppression.
Indeed, a day like this should not pass by without celebrating a cerebral man who’s hard to come by in this corrupt time that we are in.
Jimmy Adekanle born In the family of Late Pa. Elicana Adekanle Lijoka and Mrs. Ige Adekanle Lijoka of Gboroye quarter Ode-Irele Jimi started his elementary school in Lagos, Jimi proceed to Comprehensive High School Ode-Irele, Ondo state where he obtain his S.S.C.E. later, jimi gain admission into Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi where he bag his OND and HND respectively in Accounting.
In 2013, jimi bagged a master degree in Business Administration at the ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso Oyo state.
On his pursuance for more knowledge, jimi has bagged certificate as a Business Analyst from Topron Consulting in Toronto Ontario and also Project Management Certificate sponsored by Royal Bank of Canada, University of Toronto and polycultural of Toronto.
Jimi started his banking career with African International Bank Jos, later he preceded to Standard Alliance Insurance as branch manager, branch manger at Trust and Guarantee Insurance Abuja, branch manager at Regency Alliance Insurance Abuja and Head of Finsurance for southwest.
In 2009 jimi founded the jimi Adekanle Foundation (JAF) a Non governmental organization with the aims of given back to the society. As part of his giving back to the society JAF started the construction of modern E-library in his Alma mata which is 90% completion, free medical treatment for old people across the 18 local government of ondo state, registration of over 100 students for WAEC and JAMB in ondo state, donations of relief materials to the motherless baby home in ondo state and given out wheel chairs to the disables, helping some youth securing employments.
Jimi has bagged numerous awards, which includes the Hero Magazine Oluomo of Irele Kingdom award 2014, Ambassador for peace of the United Nations Awards in 2013 and the most Young Achievers Award of Irele local government 2015.
Jimi is a Human Rights Activist and a Public Affairs Commentator, recently he championed a peaceful protest to the Canadian house of Commons demanding for the immediate release of Soworè, Sambo Dasuki and in less than a week they were released before the Christmas celebration of 2019, also recently in 2020 Jimi Adekanle led the group of Concerned Nigerians in Canada to a peaceful protest at the Nigerian high commission in Ottawa Canada where he delivered a communique on behalf of the Group to Nigerian Government on the insecurity going on in Nigeria that attracted media houses across the world, Presently he is the Convener of Concerned Nigerians in Diaspora (CNID) a social cultural movement that fights for good governance in Nigeria.
In 2018 jimi was one of the outstanding ballot returning officer in the last city of Toronto Mayor’s and councillors election that attracted the commendations of the mayor of Toronto John Terry.
Jimi is married to Margaret Magaret Adekemi Daramola Adekanle and their marriage is bless with four boys.
